Program Objective

A KTI trained paralegal will be able to assist a lawyer in such areas as case research, real estate, document preparation, drafting of pleadings and correspondence and investigations at an entry level. Short of making legal decisions, practicing in a court of law, or advising clients, a paralegal may perform many tasks formerly handled only by lawyers.

The Paralegal Specialist program prepares students to enter the legal field, working for lawyers, law firms, legal divisions of banks, insurance companies, corporations, government agencies, real estate and in social work. This expanded program offers the student a more in-depth study of our criminal and civil legal systems with added emphasis given to Tort Law, Business Law and Legal Research, as well as, general education courses which will enhance the student's employment opportunities.
